Move a Camp County Property Through Search, Verification, Tax Payment and Recorded Ownership

Camp Central Appraisal District combines appraisal and property-tax collection services. Use its official search for values, exemptions, land details and account identification, then continue to online forms, the protest portal, the escrow check or the tax-payment provider.

Deeds, liens, releases and legal ownership history remain with the Camp County Clerk. Vehicle registration, voter registration and boat-related county services go to the separate County Tax Assessor-Collector.

1. By Owner Enter the last name first. Search one distinctive word for a trust, estate or business.
2. By Address or By ID Use a simplified street name or enter the exact Property ID from an official document.
3. ARB and Advanced Search Use these tabs for protest status, abstracts, subdivisions, property types and detailed filters.

Search-field guide

Choose the Camp CAD search field that matches the property

Search homes, timberland, mineral interests, mobile homes and businesses
Search field Best use Important check
Owner name Find a person, trust, estate, ranch, timber company or business. Try the last name or one entity word before adding details.
Doing Business As Find a business, shop, contractor or trade name. A DBA does not establish legal ownership.
Property ID Reopen a known appraisal or tax account. Confirm the property type and tax year after opening it.
Address Find a residence, store, office or other addressed property. Remove the suffix and city when the complete address fails.
Abstract Find rural acreage described by an original survey. Compare the survey, tract and acreage with the deed.
Subdivision Find a property in a named development or recorded plat. Match the lot, block, phase and legal description.
Property type Separate Real, Personal, Mineral, Auto and Mobile Home records. One owner or location can have several related accounts.
ARB Search Research protest status, informal dates, hearing dates and formal-review information. The written ARB notice controls the hearing schedule.
Advanced Search Narrow a large result list by property type, subdivision or other fields. Add one filter at a time so the search does not become too restrictive.
Property-record decoder

Understand what each Camp CAD field does and does not establish

Use appraisal fields as routes to the controlling tax, deed or survey record
Field What it identifies What it does not prove Next action
Property ID The Camp CAD appraisal and collection account. That the County Clerk uses the same identifier. Use it for CAD forms, payments, calls and protests.
Owner shown The owner carried for appraisal and tax administration. Complete title, lien priority or ownership history. Search County Clerk records.
Situs address The physical location shown on the appraisal account. The mailing address, legal access or boundary. Compare the map, deed and 911 address.
Legal description An abbreviated abstract, survey, tract, lot, block or subdivision reference. A complete deed-quality legal description. Open the recorded deed, plat and survey.
Acreage The acreage carried for appraisal purposes. Professionally surveyed or guaranteed acreage. Verify the deed and survey.
Market value Camp CAD’s opinion of market value as of January 1. A guaranteed sale price or final tax bill. Compare sales, condition and equal-appraisal evidence.
Appraised value Value after an applicable appraisal limitation or special appraisal. The taxable value for every taxing unit. Review exemption and taxing-unit details.
Exemption Homestead, veteran, disaster, Freeport or another benefit. Every taxing unit grants an identical reduction. Review each taxable-value line.
Ag, timber or wildlife status Special valuation or management treatment carried by CAD. Qualification will continue after a sale or use change. Review the application, survey and use evidence.
Tax balance The amount shown in the collection system for selected years. That escrow or a recent payment is not still processing. Check escrow, payment history and receipt status.
Search troubleshooting

Fix common Camp CAD search failures before calling the office

Change one search field or property type at a time
Problem Likely reason Practical fix
Owner search returns nothing The account may use initials, a spouse, trust, estate, company or prior owner. Search only the last name or one distinctive entity word.
Full address fails The account may use a different direction, suffix, city or rural-address format. Search only the street number and main street name or the street name alone.
Rural tract has no standard address The record may be indexed by owner, Property ID, abstract or legal description. Use Advanced Search and confirm the parcel on the map.
Timber account is difficult to locate The land may be carried under a rural real-property account rather than a separate timber label. Search the owner, Property ID, abstract and legal description.
Mineral interest does not appear Mineral accounts are separate from surface real property. Select Mineral and search owner, Property ID or abstract information.
Manufactured home is missing The home and land may be separate or listed under Mobile Home. Change the property type and search the owner and location again.
Business account is missing The account may use a DBA, legal entity or individual owner. Search the DBA, company and owner separately under Personal.
New owner is not displayed The recorded deed may still be processing into the appraisal system. Confirm recording with the County Clerk and save the instrument details.
Payment balance looks wrong The wrong year may be open, escrow may be pending or a recent payment may not have posted. Check all years, escrow status and the payment confirmation before paying again.

Camp County property situations

Local search guidance for Pittsburg, Rocky Mound, timberland and lake-area property

Pittsburg residence

Check City of Pittsburg, Pittsburg ISD, Camp County and Northeast Texas Community College taxing-unit lines.

Rocky Mound property

Verify the city, school district and county treatment rather than assuming Pittsburg taxing units apply.

Gilmer ISD area

Some Camp County property can be served by Gilmer ISD. Use the taxing units shown on the individual account.

Timber tract

Review acreage, timber application, timber survey, management evidence and any change of use.

Farm or grazing land

Confirm agricultural use, required survey attachment, leases, livestock, fencing, water and production evidence.

Wildlife management

Keep the wildlife plan, annual report, activities, photographs and receipts connected to each tract.

Lake-area property

Check the deed, survey, access, flood risk, restrictions, septic authority and shoreline rights separately from CAD value.

Mineral interest

Search Mineral separately and verify legal ownership through deeds, assignments, leases or probate records.

Manufactured home

Determine whether the home and land are assessed together or under separate real and mobile-home accounts.

Office routing

Send each Camp County property question to the correct office

Appraisal, collection, deeds and vehicle services follow different routes
Your question Correct starting point What to prepare
What is the appraised value? Camp Central Appraisal District Property ID, tax year and disputed value field.
Why is an exemption missing? Camp Central Appraisal District Application, identification and qualification evidence.
Is ag or timber treatment active? Camp Central Appraisal District Property ID, acreage, survey, application and use records.
How much property tax is due? Camp CAD collection and payment system Property ID, owner and every relevant tax year.
Did my payment or escrow payment post? Camp CAD collection staff Confirmation, escrow details, amount, date and tax year.
Who legally owns the property? Camp County Clerk or title professional Grantor, grantee, date range, instrument and legal description.
Where can I find a deed or lien? Camp County Clerk Names, document type, recording period and property description.
Where do I register a vehicle? Camp County Tax Assessor-Collector Vehicle, title, insurance and identification documents.
How do I obtain a rural 911 address? Camp County 911 Coordinator through the County Judge’s office Parcel, legal description, entrance location and owner details.
How do I submit a subdivision plat? Camp County Commissioners Court and County Clerk Current county requirements, plat copies, approvals and filing documents.
Do not send property-tax payments to the County Tax Assessor-Collector. Camp CAD states that all local taxing units contract with the appraisal district for property-tax collection.
Account corrections

Correct the Camp County system that owns the inaccurate field

Incorrect owner name Confirm the deed, probate order or assignment was recorded and ask Camp CAD what ownership proof it requires.
Incorrect mailing address Use Camp CAD’s official Address Change Form and verify that future notices and tax statements use the new address.
Incorrect situs address Determine whether the issue belongs to Camp CAD, the City of Pittsburg or the Camp County 911 Coordinator.
Incorrect acreage Prepare the deed, recorded plat and professional survey. The appraisal map does not settle a legal boundary.
Incorrect improvement details Identify the disputed building, area, age, condition or completion status and provide dated evidence.
Incorrect payment Contact the collection staff with the receipt, confirmation, Property ID, amount, date and tax year.
A correction and a protest are different. A correction updates account data. A protest challenges an appraisal-district action such as value, unequal appraisal, exemption denial or special-appraisal denial.
Value explanation

Separate market value, appraised value and taxable value

VALUE 1 Market value

Camp CAD’s opinion of the property’s market value as of January 1.

VALUE 2 Appraised value

The applicable value after a homestead limitation or qualifying agricultural, timber or wildlife appraisal.

VALUE 3 Taxable value

The value remaining after exemptions for each county, city, school or college taxing unit.

Do not estimate the final bill from market value alone. The result depends on appraised value, exemptions, adopted rates, ceilings, special-appraisal treatment, penalties and payments.
Camp CAD appraises and collects, but local taxing units adopt their own rates. Use the truth-in-taxation database during August and September to review proposed and adopted rates.
Homestead and other exemptions

Search the property before filing a Camp County exemption

Residence homestead

Confirm the property is the owner’s principal residence and the exemption appears for the correct year.

Age 65 or older

Review the additional exemption, school-tax ceiling, instalment option and possible tax deferral.

Disabled person

Prepare qualification evidence and review additional exemption, ceiling and deferral treatment.

Disabled veteran or survivor

Use the official online form and attach the required VA or survivor documentation.

Disaster-damage exemption

Use the property-damaged-by-disaster application when an officially declared disaster and statutory requirements apply.

Freeport exemption

Businesses claiming eligible inventory treatment should use the official form and maintain movement records.

What to prepare before filing

Camp CAD Property ID
Owner name matching the account
Texas driver licence or qualifying identification
Property address and occupancy date
Age, disability or VA documentation
Deed, probate or heirship evidence
Supporting affidavit when required
Online, mailed or stamped filing proof
New owner warning: do not assume the seller’s homestead exemption or appraisal limitation automatically protects the buyer. File under the new ownership when eligible.
Agriculture, timber and wildlife

Follow Camp CAD’s local survey requirements for special land appraisal

Camp CAD states that agricultural applications must include the Ag Survey identified in Section 9. Timber applications must be completed and mailed with the district’s timber survey.
Agricultural use

Prepare acreage, prior use, current operation, livestock or crop records and the required Camp CAD survey.

Timber appraisal

Complete Texas Form 50-167 and include the Camp CAD timber survey using the district’s current mailing instructions.

Wildlife management

Maintain the wildlife plan, annual report, qualifying activities, photographs and receipts.

Leased land

Keep the lease, operator information, activity records, receipts and proof of qualifying intensity.

New owner

Do not assume the seller’s agricultural, timber or wildlife treatment continues automatically after closing.

Change of use

Ask about additional taxes before changing qualifying land to residential, commercial or another nonqualifying use.

Property ID and legal description
Acreage and parcel map
Camp CAD ag or timber survey
Prior qualifying-use history
Lease and operator information
Livestock, production or wildlife records
Receipts and dated photographs
Proof of timely submission
Acreage alone does not qualify land. Camp CAD can review the property’s history, principal use, management, intensity and supporting evidence.
Minerals, mobile homes and related accounts

Search special property types separately from the surface tract

Mineral account

Select Mineral and search the owner, Property ID, abstract, lease or other available identifiers.

Surface property

A mineral account does not prove ownership of the land surface or every mineral interest.

Manufactured home

Select Mobile Home and search the owner, physical location and Property ID.

Home and land separation

Determine whether the manufactured home and land are assessed together or under separate accounts.

Multiple owners

Mineral and manufactured-home ownership may differ from the owner displayed on the surface-land account.

Legal verification

Use County Clerk deeds, assignments, leases, affidavits and probate records when ownership matters.

One address can produce several property accounts. Search every relevant property type before paying, buying or filing a protest.
Business personal property

Match the Camp County business account to the correct DBA and January 1 location

Search every business name

Try the legal entity, DBA, individual owner, agent and Property ID.

Confirm January 1 situs

Check where the assets were located or used on January 1 of the tax year.

Review asset categories

Compare inventory, furniture, machinery, equipment and other income-producing property.

Maintain cost records

Keep invoices, asset lists, depreciation schedules, disposal records and photographs.

File the rendition

The normal Texas rendition deadline is April 15, subject to timely extension rules.

Review Freeport eligibility

Eligible inventory owners should document acquisition, location and movement outside Texas.

2026 appraisal protest

Build a Camp County protest around one account and one specific issue

Normal filing rule: most protests are due by May 15 or the 30th day after the appraisal notice was delivered, whichever is later. The date printed on the individual notice controls.
As of July 31, 2026, the ordinary deadline has passed for most 2026 notices. Contact Camp CAD immediately when a notice was not delivered, was delivered late or a statutory correction or late-hearing provision may apply.
Save the complete property account Keep the Property ID, legal description, land, improvements, values, exemptions and property characteristics.
Read the Notice of Appraised Value Record the proposed value, protest deadline, portal instructions and any account or access credentials.
Choose the exact protest reason Examples include market value, unequal appraisal, property-data error, exemption denial or special-appraisal denial.
Open the official protest route Start from the Camp CAD homepage or Taxpayer Portal so a vendor or login change does not send you to an outdated page. Open Camp CAD Taxpayer Portal
Keep proof of filing Save the portal confirmation, email, mailing receipt or office-stamped copy.
Review the district’s evidence Compare sales, appraisal schedules, property characteristics and equal-appraisal accounts with your evidence.
Attempt an informal resolution State the requested value or correction and connect every document to the disputed field.
Prepare for the ARB hearing Use ARB Search where helpful and follow the written hearing notice for the date, evidence rules and participation method.

Camp County protest evidence checklist

Notice of Appraised Value

Dated condition photographs
Repair estimates or professional reports
Deed, survey or acreage evidence
Ag, timber, wildlife or rendition evidence
“My taxes are too high” is not a complete appraisal argument. Focus on value, equality, property facts, exemptions or classification. Local taxing units adopt their own rates.
Taxpayer Portal and electronic communication

Use Camp CAD’s portal for documents, applications and electronic delivery

Open the official Taxpayer Portal Open Camp CAD Taxpayer Portal
Create an account with a monitored email Save the login securely and check spam folders for approval and reset messages.
Wait for approval when required The portal may display Approval Pending while Camp CAD reviews the registration.
Connect the correct property Verify the Property ID, owner, address and legal description before managing documents.
Complete the electronic-communication request Creating a portal account alone may not complete the statutory election for electronic delivery.
Save the confirmation The election remains effective until the owner or designated representative rescinds it in writing.
The portal was updated June 9, 2026. Interface labels may change, so follow the live instructions displayed after login.
Property-tax payment

Pay Camp County property taxes through Camp CAD’s official provider

Open Camp CAD’s official payment route Starting from campcad.org protects against an outdated payment-provider link. Open Camp CAD Online Payments
Search by Property ID, name or address The payment portal recommends removing dashes or spaces when a search fails.
Open the correct bill Confirm the owner, property, Property ID and every available tax year.
Add only the intended bills Use the Add button and review all selected items before checkout.
Review the cart Check each property, tax year, base amount, penalty, interest and processing fee.
Checkout as a guest or account holder An account is not required, but an account can preserve payment history and wallet information.
Do not refresh during processing The provider warns that processing may take up to a minute.
Save the confirmation and receipt Keep the Property ID, tax year, payment amount, fee, date and confirmation number.
Verify posting Reopen the property account or call Camp CAD before making a duplicate payment.
Camp CAD states that automated telephone payments are available through the provider at 903-494-6650. The appraisal office itself does not accept phone payments.
Do not rely on a fee remembered from an earlier payment. Read the live card, bank or processing fee before authorising the transaction.
Escrow duplicate-payment protection

Check whether the mortgage company is already paying the tax bill

Camp CAD tells escrow homeowners not to pay again when the mortgage lender is paying the taxes. Use the Property ID in the official Escrow Check or call the district before submitting money.
Find the Property ID Copy it from the official Camp CAD account, tax statement or mortgage correspondence.
Open Camp CAD’s Escrow Check Open Escrow Check
Check lender activity Review whether the mortgage company has requested or is expected to pay the bill.
Compare with the mortgage statement Verify the escrow balance, lender name and scheduled property-tax disbursement.
Call when the result is unclear Provide the Property ID, owner, lender and tax year before making a direct payment.
Save proof Keep the escrow-check result, lender communication and any later payment confirmation.
Payment problems and relief review

Act before a Camp County tax balance becomes harder to resolve

Payment not posted

Provide the confirmation, Property ID, tax year, payment date, amount and payment method.

Duplicate payment risk

Check escrow and recent payment history before submitting a second transaction.

Quarterly instalments

Qualifying senior, disabled and certain veteran homeowners may have statutory instalment options.

Tax deferral

Some qualifying homestead owners may be able to postpone collection while the property remains eligible.

Delinquent balance

Ask Camp CAD for a current payoff and available arrangements before assuming an online amount is complete.

Tax certificate

Request the official certificate or payoff required by the title company, lender or closing professional.

A deferral postpones collection; it does not erase the tax. Interest and a property-tax lien can remain. Review the official form and obtain professional advice when the balance is substantial.
Deeds, liens and recorded ownership

Use the Camp County Clerk when legal ownership matters

The Camp County Clerk’s official page provides an Official Public Record Search. Begin from the county webpage rather than an unverified commercial record service.
Open the official County Clerk page Open Camp County Clerk
Select Official Public Record Search Use the link provided on the county page to enter the county’s record-search system.
Search all likely names Try current and prior owners, spouses, trusts, estates, companies and spelling variations.
Narrow the date and document type Look for deeds, deeds of trust, releases, liens, assignments, plats and probate-related documents.
Compare the document with Camp CAD Match the parties, instrument date, recording information, abstract, subdivision and legal description.
Request the correct copy type Ask whether a plain or certified copy is required and confirm the current page and certification fees.
Use a professional for title conclusions A public search does not replace a title examination, legal advice or professional survey.
Recently purchased property still shows the seller? Confirm that the deed was recorded, save the instrument information and ask Camp CAD what ownership documentation it needs.
Tax-sale and struck-off property research

Verify title, redemption and tax status before bidding or buying

Camp CAD’s official website identifies March 3, 2026 as its most recent listed tax sale and publishes a struck-off property list and Buyer Notification Program information.
Start from Camp CAD

Use the official tax-sale page and confirm whether the listing is current, struck off, redeemed, withdrawn or sold.

Check every tax account

Review all years, property types, taxing units and related personal, mineral or mobile-home accounts.

Search Clerk records

Review deeds, liens, releases, probate matters, restrictions and recorded legal descriptions.

Verify physical access

A tax-sale listing does not guarantee a public road, usable entrance, utilities or possession.

Check redemption rights

Redemption periods and procedures depend on the property and sale. Obtain qualified legal advice.

Do not rely on the CAD map

Verify boundaries, acreage, easements and improvements with a deed, survey and site inspection.

A tax-sale purchase can involve title, possession, redemption and condition risks. Do not bid based only on an appraisal value, online photograph or parcel map.
Buyer, owner and development checks

Complete these checks before buying or dividing Camp County property

Confirm the exact parcel

Match the Property ID, legal description, abstract, map, deed, plat and survey.

Check every tax year

Review current, delinquent and partially paid balances and confirm escrow activity.

Search deeds and liens

Use the County Clerk’s official records and a title professional for a complete examination.

Recalculate exemptions

The seller’s homestead exemption, tax ceiling or appraisal limitation may not continue.

Recheck timber or ag value

Special appraisal may require a new application, survey, use evidence or continued qualification.

Identify taxing units

Confirm the county, city, school and Northeast Texas Community College treatment.

Confirm jurisdiction

Determine whether permits and planning come from the City of Pittsburg or unincorporated Camp County.

Check subdivision requirements

Review current Commissioners Court submission requirements before dividing or replatting land.

Check 911, septic and flood issues

Confirm the addressing and permitting authority before building, installing utilities or operating an OSSF.

The seller’s current tax bill may understate the buyer’s future tax. Ownership changes can affect exemptions, appraisal limitations, timber or agricultural treatment, new improvements and taxable value.
Taxing units and truth in taxation

2026 appraisal and tax calendar

Business personal-property rendition Most renditions are due April 15, subject to a timely extension request.
Many exemption and special-appraisal applications Homestead, agricultural, timber and other applications commonly use an April 30 filing date, subject to late-filing provisions.
Normal appraisal protest date Most protests are due May 15 or the 30th day after the notice was delivered, whichever is later.
Informal reviews and ARB hearings Use the individual hearing notice and ARB Search for current dates and status.
Normal ARB approval timing Appraisal records are generally approved by July 20, subject to statutory exceptions.
Normal appraisal-roll certification timing The chief appraiser generally certifies appraisal rolls to taxing units by July 25.
Tax-rate transparency period Local taxing units publish proposed rates, estimates, hearings and adopted-rate information.
Tax statements generally begin Camp CAD’s collection and escrow systems become the primary routes for bills and payments.
Normal 2026 tax-year payment timing January 31, 2027 is a Sunday, so the normal next-business-day rule generally permits timely payment on Monday, February 1. Verify the bill.
The date on the individual notice, application, hearing order or tax statement controls. General calendar dates do not replace a later delivery date, valid extension, late-filing rule or postponed delinquency date.
